Such a great show to see and so sad, too
I WAS THERE! So great and so sad. Two days after Bill Graham died tragically. They put on an extra special show. Bill's son did a heart wrenching eulogy. Bill would have wanted it that way; joyful.
"Mona" blew my mind!
I also went to the free concert in Golden Gate Park that weekend with Santana, Los Lobos and others (even, uh, Journey). Miss you Bill, and Jer. Sorry to reiterate other posts, but it was such a powerful, intimate, special night that could never be felt from any audio reproduction; sad yet joyous, like a New Orleans funeral procession

Ah, This show was at the Oakland Coliseum Arena. NOT The Stadium. I was there, and recorded in the tapers section. Though The DSBD smokes the audience tapes made in the back of that cave. This was an emotional show, being the first Dead show since Bill Graham's tragic death in the helicoptor accident. They opened with 'Sugar Magnolia', Bill's favorite Dead song, and closed the 11/3/91 'Laughter Love & Music' show with 'Sunshine Daydream' to honor Bill's passing at Golden Gate Park later in the week.

Top 5 for me No doubt

IMO this is the superior version of this show. You can really hear the boys consciously playing their hearts out on this one. Very emotionally charged performance. Everything is very very excellently played.

This is 2 days after Bill Graham died
Graham's helicopter crashed on 10/25/91 after leaving a Huey Lewis and the News concert. They hit a power transformer that actually surged power felt back inside the concert.
